This is a compilation of resourses I made awhile back for a close friend. I realized recently that it could help many more people, so I wanted to share it. This list is non-exhaustive, but very thorough. In the following five sections — mental health, transition resources, online community spaces, live support chatrooms, and emergency hotlines — you’ll find everything from relatable music, binding tips, helpful Youtube accounts, coming out letters, advice chatrooms, and more.
I hope this serves as a good collection to share with those who need it.
I hope that it found you when you needed it.
1. Mental Health
The following links are to music, podcasts, shows, and other helpful sites that will make you feel less alone during your journey. There are also tips for combatting dysphoria, finding validation. and practicing self-care.
2. Transition Resources
These links will take you to a variety of sites that can help you look into medical, social, and/or legal transition. There are also coming out letter templates, locations of informed consent clinics, binding tips, and more.
3. Online Community Spaces
This section is a collection of online forum sites, Facebook groups, and other spaces where you can connect to fellow trans folks who understand. Having support is so important and luckily in the age of the internet, it’s never been easier.
4. Live Support Chatrooms
These links are to safe, confidential chat rooms where you can seek support, advice, and guidance from mental health professionals and trans peers.
5. Emergency Hotlines
The final section is anonymous emergency hotlines and text-lines in case you’re in crisis. They are trans and LGBTQIA+ specific, because members of our community often need support in such a hostile world.
